    • At St Mary’s Cathedral on Tuesday week, during the Nuptial Mass, the Rev. Dr Coleman united in marriage Miss Nellie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs P Brennan, of New Park, and Mr Peter Duffy, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr James Duffy, of Armidale. The bride, who was conducted to the altar on the arm of her father, was attended by her sister Margaret as bridesmaid, while Mr J Duffy acted as best man . Mr and Mrs Duffy subsequently journeyed north. [6]

      OBITUARY
      Mrs Ellen Duffy

      The death occurred in Sydney of Mrs Ellen Duffy aged 94.

      The late Mrs Duffy was a native of Armidale being the daughter of Patrick and Mary Brennan of New Park Enmore. She lived in Mann Street, Armidale until a few years ago since when she had been with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Lyall McGrath of Willoughby.

      She married Peter Duffy who for many years conducted a billiards room in Beary Street where Coles now stands. Mr Duffy died in 1951.

      Mrs McGrath (Mary) was the only child.
      Mr William A Brennan of New Park, Enmore is a brother and Miss Anne Brennan, of the Oriental Hotel, Toowoomba is a sister. Two sisters Margaret and Mary (Mrs Jim Hayden) and two brothers Thomas and John predeceased her.

      There are three grandchidren and great grandchildren.

      Burial took place in the Catholic portion of the Armidale cemetery after requiem Mass in St Mary's Cathedral on Monday. Dr B McPherson officiated both at the Mass and at the graveside.
      The late Mrs Duffy had for many years been an active member of organisations associated with her Church. [7]
