5551 Obituary Mrs Eugene Ryan
Mrs Therese Ryan, 66, wife of Mr Eugene Ryan of Woodville, died suddenly on Saturday morning last. Mrs Ryan, who was a native of Rocky River, where her parents Mr and Mrs Garrahy, were among the early arrivals in the days of the gold rush, was a well known and highly respected by a large circle of friends and the news of her sudden demise came as a great shock. One son and four daughters were born to her marriage, viz., John (Sydney), Mrs Noel Craddock (Armatree), Mrs C Henry (Sydney), Mrs M Costello (Tingha), and Nellie (Uralla). Her brothers are Messrs. Pat (Guyra), Michael and Thomas (Uralla), and sisters are Mrs Harding (Uralla), Mrs J Jones (Uralla), Mrs J Howard (Armidale) and Mrs Seckold (Muswellbrook). There was a large attendance at the funeral on Sunday afternoon, when Rev Fr Condon conducted the service. Many beautiful floral tributes were received. Uralla Times 20th February 1941

5552 Obituary Mrs G W Piddington
The sad death occurred in Prince Alfred Hospital on Sunday evening of Mrs Piddington, wife of Mr G W Piddington, of Armidale. Mrs Piddington went to Sydney about a month ago suffering from goitre. It was while she was being built up for an operation that she suddenly took a turn fo rthe worse and passed away within a few hours. The late Mrs Piddington was the youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs A S Waters, of Armidale, two of Armidale’s best known pioneers. She leaves in addition to her sorrowing husband, the following family: Mrs Pearson (Armidale), Mrs J Hutton (Black Mountain) and Messrs Harley and Alan Piddington (Armidale) Deceased was 62 years of age.
Sisters and brothers of the late Mrs Piddington are: Mrs C Ferris (Armidale), Mrs Lees (Sydney), Mrs Scribner (Sydney), Mrs Smith (Armidale), Mrs Whisken (Sydney) and Messsrs R WAters (Armidale), Andrew Waters (Murwillumbah) and Edward Waters ( Armidale).
The funeral takes place this (Tuesday) afternoon. The cortage will leave the Methodist Church at the expiration of the service which commences at 2 o’clock.

5553 Obituary Mrs Kathleen Brennan - Armidale Express 10 March 1948.
The death occurred at her home at Dangarsleigh Road, Armidale, last Friday of Mrs Kathleen Brennan, aged 59 years.

Deceased who was the wife of Mr TV Brennan had suffered a long illness. She was the second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Martin Egan of Malane, Uralla. She had resided at Uralla until her marriage 35 years ago. Since then she had resided in the Armidale district.
Four daughters and one son survive. They are Mrs Dal. Edwards(Dangarsleigh), Mrs Geoff Heron (Armidale), Mrs Frank Gracvers (Waverley), Miss Noelene Brennan (Armidale), and Mr Ray Brennan (Armidale). One daughter and one son predeceased her.
Messrs Matthew, William and Thomas Egan (all of Uralla), are brothers of the deceased. Mesdames H Carlon and J McDonald (both of Uralla) and J Murray (Tamworth) are sisters.
The funeral took placde on Sunday afternoon from St Mary’s Cathedral to the Catholic portion of Armidale cemetery. Rev Father Healy offriciated and T Crowley and Son had charge of arrangements.

5554 Obituary Mrs M A Ryan
The death occurred at Woodville, Uralla, last week, of an old and well-known resident in the person of Mrs MAry Ann Ryan, wife of Mr Patrick Ryan.
The late Mrs Ryan, who was over 70 years of age, had resided in Uralla for upwards of 70 years. She was of a charitable disposition, and in her younger days did a lot to assist needy cases in the town. She was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, and was often referred to as a grand old lady. She is survived by two daugthers, Mrs Hockley (Newcastle) and Mr Jack King (Kentucky). The funeral, which took place on Friday afternoon, was very largely attended. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic portion of Uralla cemetery, the last sad rites being administered at the graveside by Rev Father Condon. Uralla Times 12 August 1948

5559 Obituary William J Ryan
Mr William J Ryan (Wylie) Ryan of the Grange, Uralla, died in Armidale hospital on thursday last, following a short illness from an abscess on the brain. Mr Ryan was conveyed to hospital in the hope that an operation would relieve him.
He was the 5th son of the late Mr and Mrs John Ryan and was only 57 years of age at the time of his death, which was totally unexpected and come as a great shock to his relatives and friends.
He was unmarried, and is survived by five brothers and two sisters, namely, Messrs Jack (Armidale), Pat., Eugene, Daniel and James Ryan (Uralla), Miss Catherine (Uralla) and Miss Ellen (Sydney).
The late Mr Ryan was a keen political student and over a long term of years practically never missed a political meeting at Uralla.
the burial took place in the family plot at the old cemetery, Uralla, on Friday last, when a large gathering of relatives and friends attended. Rev. Father McGrath conducted the burial service. Uralla Times 9 March 1933

5560 Obituary William John Ryan
The death occurred on December 3 at St Vincent’s Hospital after a short illness of Mr William John Ryan, of Rosehill, Uralla. He was 56. Mr Ryan, who was a native of Uralla, had dairying interests at Rosehill at the time of his death, and had formerly been a grazier. He is survived by his widow, Kathleen, daughters Patricia (Mrs N Egan, Armidale), Marlene (Mrs A Vannucci, Woodville), Monica (Mrs F Consolati, Uralla) and sons John (Werris Creek) and Richard who is at school. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 5, by the Very Rev Dean J O’Connor, who conducted a largely attended service on the following day at St Joseph’s Church, Uralla. Father O’Connor also officiated at the Uralla cemetery. Uralla Times 15 December 1966.

Blossburg - The body of Charles Orton, who died Wednesday at his home in Elmira, was brought to Blossburg Sunday afternoon for interment in Arbon Cemetery. Mr. Orton was born in England, coming to this country when a young man and settling in Morris Run where he was engaged in mining for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Hewitt and Mrs. John Jones of Mosherville; five sons, Jesse of Elmira, Albert of Utah, Fred and Charles of Kittanning and William of Binghamton; two brothers, Joseph of Kittanning and William of England.

Mrs. Emma Orton, formerly of Morris Run, died at the family home in Elmira Jan. 26, aged 57 years. She is survived by her husband, Charles Orton; by seven children, Emma and Fred, at home; Mrs. John Jones, of Mosherville, Pa.; Jesse and William, of Elmira; Albert, of Cadogan, Pa.; Charles, of Horatio, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. James Orton, of Horatio, Pa.; Mrs. Mary Benson and Mrs. Elizabeth Wilkenson, both of England; two brothers, William and Joseph Allsopp, also of England. The funeral was held Wednesday and the remains were removed to Blossburg Thursday morning for burial (The Agitator, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, February 4, 1920).

The death occurred at Armidale Distric Hospital recently of John John Francis, aged 13 years, son of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Francis, of Rocky River, Uralla. Prior to entering hospital at Armidale the child had suffered an attack of pneumonia from which he did not completely recover. The funeral took place at Uralla cemetery on Saturday afternoon last. The Rev. H.C.V. Lancaster officiated at a service at St John’s Church of England and at the graveside. Members of Uralla branch of the M.U.I.O.O.F. attended the funeral.

An interment will take place on Monday in Narrabri Cemetery following a service commencing at 2:30 o’clock in St Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Narrabri
