      OLD IDENTITY PASSES
      Death of jacob Frederick Scheef
      The passing of Jacob Frederick Scheef, of Brown Street, Armidale, removes one of Armidale’s best-known identities of two decades ago. A quiet, unassuming man, he was held in the highest respect by the whole community. Everybody knew him, and everybody liked him. For many years he undertook delivery of hte Armidale Express and the Armidale Chronicle. He was aided by his son, Fred, and although they had to cover the whole town four times a week, there was seldom a comlaint concerning non-delivery. Both father and son had a deep sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties. For some years the late Jacob Scheef was emplyed on the cleaning staff of both the Chronicle and the Express. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs P Asche; and two sons, ARthur and Frederick. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon, the cortege moving from St Paul’s Presbyterian Churc, after service commencing at 3 o’clock. Piddington’s have charge of the arrangements. [7]
