A pretty wedding was solemnised by Rev Father McGrath at St Joseph’s Church on Wednesday last, the contracting parties being Herbert, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Steven Carlon of Salisbury Plainsm and Ellen, fourth daughter of Mr M Egan of “Melane”, Uralla. The bride was prettily attired in white crepe de chine and wore the customary wreath and veil, mob-cap fashion. She was attended by her sister Vera Egan, who wore champagne crepe de chine, with hat to match. The train-bearers were Foncie Brennan and Laurie McDonald. Mr Victor Stoker acted as best man. The wedding breakfast was served at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs J McDonnell, where a number of relatives assembled. Rev Father McGrath presided, and the usual toasts were honoured.
