      Marjorie Mangold Cloud, 88, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005, in Atlanta, Georgia.Born September 8, 1916, in Ryan, Iowa, to Ed and Rose Mangold, Marjorie grew up and spent most of her life in Iowa.  She was educated in rural schools in Hazel Green Township, graduated from Manchester High, received her teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls (now UNI) and a B.A. Degree from the University of Iowa, with graduate studies at UNI, University of Iowa, Simpson College, and Drake University. She served in Washington, D.C., as Congressional Administrative Assistant during WWII, and taught school in the District of Columbia, Illinois, and several Iowa communities.  In 1981, she retired from Indianola High School, where she taught English, composition, and speech for 16 years. The Marjorie Cloud Award for Excellence in Speech Communication, a scholarship established by a former student, is presented each year to a deserving senior at Indianola High School.
      On February 1, 1941, she married Albert Morgan Cloud, Jr. (deceased) and is survived by their children. Marjorie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Helen Pemble and son-in-law Richard, son Morgan Cloud and daughter-in-law Shelby, son Douglas Cloud and daughter-in-law Kimberly, daughter Candace Cloud and son-in-law Stefan Clüver, son Mark Cloud and daughter-in-law Valerie, as well as 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother, Lester Mangold, sisters-in-law Phyllis and Harriet Mangold, and numerous nieces and nephews.
      Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at First United Methodist Church in Indianola on Saturday, August 27 at 1:00 pm and burial service at Golden Prairie Cemetery in Ryan on Sunday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m.
