    • Obituary - Veronica Pinkerton
Veronica Beryl Pinkerton better known as Beryl, was the fourth child of Ethel Florence and Richard Frampton Tuckey and was born at Glenburnie Gundy road on the 30th January 1921. Beryl was educated at Gundy School.
On March 14, 1938, Beryl married William Ronald Pinkerton whom she had known most of her life until his death in 1970. They reared seven children plus one infant son who died at birth. Joyce, Ron, James Richard, Brian, Lionel, David, Judith and Jenny.
Little did they know of the heartbreaking operations that Beryl had to face in the future years ahead. After many operations Beryl was left blind and partly paralysed, at the age of 34 years she was scarred for life, but tried to overcome many of her difficulties by looking on the brigher side.
After many years of battling and losing her eldest daughter Joyce, and then her husband Bill, Beryl had to face rehabilitation once again after a broken hip.
Beryl had to sell the family home as she could not look after herself and resided with her daughter Jenny, husband Roger and two of her grandchidlren Kristen and Anthony since 1970.
Beryl loved to talk to people, mainly by phone as she could not see to write, she got to know people by their voices and kept in touch with as many as possible.
Beryl is survived by one sister Stella Presland, and four brothers Jack, Bert, Bruce and Ray, also nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. [4]
