      Wedding - Dawson - Skein
A pretty wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church, Batlow, on June 19, the contracting parties being Isabel Amelia, eldest daughter of the late Mr W C Skein and Mrs A Skein, of Wilama, Batlow, to Horace DAvid, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W H Dawsonm Avondale, Kentucky South. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her eldest brother, Mr Percy Skein, looked very dainty in ivory white flat crepem cut on classical llines with shirred front and mounted with diamente clip and wore an embroidered tulle veil and coronet of orange blossums, and carried a sheaf of white soicks, dahlias and fern tied with satin streamers, on which was mounted a silver horseshoe. The Rev J A Malcomson, of Tumut, was the officiating minister. The bride was attended by Miss Vida Dawson, only sister fo the bridegroom and Miss Olive Skein, only sister of the bride. The former wore shell pink moracain with hat and shoes to match and carried a sheaf of pink dahlias and chrysanthemums tied with pink ribbon streamers. Miss Skein wore pale blue marocain with head dress of blue tulle and carried a sheaf simialr to the other bridesmaid, but tied with blue stramers. The bridegroom was supported by the brothers of the bride, Mr George Skein as bestman and Mr Les Skein as groomsman. The happy couple left the church to the strains of “The Wedding March”, Miss Haye, an intimate friend of the bride’s mother, presiding at the organ, and also drove the bridal car, in which was a large horseshoe tied with a bow of Scotch plaid. The breakfast was held at the Batlow hall, where about 50 guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore black wool de chine and carried a posy of violets. The Rev Mr Malcolmson presided and the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Dawson later left by car for a tour of the west and north west of New South Wales.
