Uralla Times 10 October 1957
Obituary Mrs S Egan
Mrs Sarah Margaret Egan, 69, passed away in Armidale Hospital on Friday last, after having been in failing health for some time.
Mrs Egan was the fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Carlon, who were among the early settlers on Salisbury Plains. She married Mr Martin Egan who died about 2 1/2 years ago.
Surviving them are two sons - James (Uralla) and Martin (Glen Innes) and two daughters Mrs Miles Cahill (Sydney) and Mrs Ron Brown (Uralla).
Mrs Egan was a member of a large family of whom three only are living - Mr Andrew Carlon, Mrs A Donoghue and Mrs Sullings all of Uralla.
Mrs Egan bore a very kindly disposition and during her life had been ever ready to assist in all Church and charitable activities.
The funeral at Uralla on Saturday last was very largely attended. Father McGrath conducted the service.
